WHY PRACTICE YOGA ?
Yoga is the science of right living and intended for practice in daily life. Yoga works on all aspects of a person-- the physical, vital, mental, emotional, psychic, and spiritual.
The root cause of the physical, mental, and emotional conflicts which we experience today in our lives is disharmony and imbalance. Yoga comes in as a way, as a means, to eliminate the areas of imbalance and obtain greater inner clarity, balance, and harmony.
Without the help of meditation, one cannot attain Knowledge of the Self. Without this aid, you cannot grow into the divine state, you cannot liberate yourself from the trammels of the mind and attain a state of peace.
Meditation is one of the Five Principles of Yoga. It is the practice by which there is constant observation of the mind. It requires you to focus your mind at one point and make your mind still in order to perceive the 'self'.
